Being a brand new school there was no leadership or any committees or groups. We had to take the initiative and start them on our own. So I wanted a leadership committee. This committee would allow the student body to have a voice and we would have a way of getting things done effectively. The first year we elected a chair to lead the meetings. I was elected chair and so it was my job to keep the meeting on topic. We would call a meeting whenever we wanted one. In those meetings wed plan field trips, events, potlucks, fundraising and try to solve issues we where having. Later in the year we also created the IHub grant application that would allow students to fill it out a document to allow them the chance to receive funding for their inquiry project. The process would begin with the student filling it out and bring it forth to the leadership and we would give recommendation and help them think outside of the box in answering the application before submitting it to the PAC.
