Inquiry projects was a new to me in grade 9. The general idea is that you do a project around an interest you have. You usually come up with a question and at the end you should be able to answer that question. The Challenge was creating a good question that you would be able to fully answer by the end of you project. A question that cant just be googled and your done.
Composting Inquiry: My first Inquiry project was about composting. We had to choose something from a list we where given. Then we would need to present what we had learned. We had less than two weeks and they did not give us a criteria sheet or anything. Once you presented there was a discussion where feedback would be given regarding the presentation. I learned a lot from that. Got pointer on making a proper PowerPoint. I Learned how i could improve on my presentation and formulation of questions.
My second inquiry project was applying for a grant. No it wasn’t the typical inquiry project but I made it work.
My third inquiry project was a seed to sprout. Which was a fun project that was experiment to see how seeds sprout and what is the best environments.
Next was the garden and that had many small projects in it, one of my favorite projects.
