In kindergarten my parents enrolled me into French immersion at Rochester elementary. I stayed in French immersion till grade nine when I came to inquiry hub. There was no choice if I was coming to inquiry hub, I would not be in French immersion because they did not offer that. Although you still had to take a language and I decided to stay with French.
In grade 9 I did Rosetta stone at the grade 10 level. I dint know it was French as a second language it felt like I was in grade 1 again, it was very frustrating. Grade 10 I and 3 of my friends that where having difficulty with transition to Rosetta stone decide to take French 12 at Charles best.
Grade 12 French at a typical high school Was a very unique experience especially when coming from inquiry hub. To take this course it entailed that at every morning 10 we would leave inquiry hub go up too Charles best. Attended the class and then return to school for the end of lunch. It was a lot of work to be leaving inquiry hub for so long when we would usually be working on our other courses, instead we were spending this time in French at a desk in a very structured class.
After already attending inquiry hub for a year it was not something I was accustomed to, I missed creating my own time table. In the end it was a new experience that I enjoyed, it was also my little bit of a traditional high school experience. By completing this course I got my required language for graduating and my B1 DELF exam.
